World Bee Day: Small Things That Make a Big Difference

Spotlighting The British Beekeepers’ Association

At Nudea, we believe thoughtful choices can create meaningful impact, whether that’s designing products to be worn and loved for longer, or supporting organisations helping to care for the world around us.

For us, World Bee Day feels especially personal. Beyond their importance to our ecosystems, bees have long held a special place within the Nudea story. Our founder is a beekeeper herself and spending time tending hives has offered a deeper appreciation for the quiet work that happens behind the scenes.

Beekeeping is a reminder that small actions can have a meaningful ripple effect; something that feels closely aligned with how we think about design, sustainability and creating with intention.

That connection to the natural world inspired our partnership with the British Beekeepers’ Association (BBKA) and led to the creation of our Honeycomb Collection, a collection that gives back, with 5% of proceeds donated to support the BBKA’s ongoing work protecting bees, educating communities and helping create more pollinator-friendly spaces.

Why Bees Matter

Bees do so much more than make honey. As pollinators, they help support healthy ecosystems and contribute to the growth of many of the fruits, vegetables and flowering plants we rely on. Their work helps sustain biodiversity and create environments where nature can flourish.

But pollinator populations continue to face challenges from habitat loss, changing climates and reduced biodiversity, making awareness and action more important than ever.

World Bee Day is a moment to recognise the role bees play and reflect on how small actions can support a healthier future.

Supporting The People Protecting Pollinators

The British Beekeepers’ Association is the UK’s largest beekeeping charity, supporting a community of more than 30,000 beekeepers while helping educate and inspire people to care for bees and pollinator habitats.

Their work spans education, conservation, local community initiatives and encouraging more bee-friendly spaces across the UK, helping create lasting impact that reaches far beyond the hive.

For us, supporting the BBKA felt like a natural extension of what we believe in: making considered choices and creating positive impact in ways that feel tangible and lasting.

Small Ways To Make A Difference

Supporting bees doesn’t have to mean becoming a beekeeper. A few simple changes can go a long way:

Plant with pollinators in mind

Choose bee-friendly flowers and create pockets of colour and nourishment in gardens, balconies or shared outdoor spaces.

Make space for biodiversity

Allow outdoor spaces to grow a little more naturally and support habitats that pollinators depend on.

Support local and seasonal where possible

Small purchasing decisions can help strengthen local ecosystems and communities.

Stay curious

Learning more about pollinators and sharing that knowledge helps create awareness and collective action.

Designed With Purpose

Our Honeycomb Collection takes inspiration from one of nature’s most beautiful structures, balancing softness, strength and intentional design.

And with 5% of proceeds supporting the British Beekeepers’ Association, each purchase contributes to their ongoing work protecting bees and encouraging more pollinator-friendly futures.
