Honeycomb is our newest lace collection, inspired by something our founder Priya is extremely passionate about - beekeeping. We sat down with her to talk about where the idea came from, what she’s learned from beekeeping and how Nudea's B Corp values helped to shape the collection.

Where did Honeycomb begin?
It honestly began outside the studio. I keep bees and when you’re around them a lot, you start to notice how intentional everything is. They’re tiny, but the way they work is so organised and so precise, there’s a quiet confidence to it.
At some point I realised I was thinking about that a lot in the context of Nudea. We’re always trying to make pieces that feel simple and effortless, but are actually really thoughtfully made. That’s basically what a honeycomb is.
How has beekeeping influenced the way you design?
It’s made me more patient, for one. You can’t rush anything with bees, you have to work with them calmly and you have to pay attention.
I think that carries over into design. You start caring about the small things: how something sits, how it feels after hours of wear, the tiny details that make all the difference.
The collection name feels so perfect. Why Honeycomb?
Because it’s the best reference point. A honeycomb looks delicate, but it’s incredibly strong. It holds so much, and it does it in a way that feels almost architectural.
That contrast became the whole idea of the collection: soft pieces that still support you, without anything feeling heavy or restrictive.
Honeycomb has a really beautiful lace story. Can you talk about that?
Yes, the lace was a big part of it. We wanted something that felt feminine and refined, but still modern and wearable.
The pattern itself is really intricate, and for me it echoes the detail in a honeycomb - that repeating structure, the precision and the craftsmanship. It’s delicate when you look closely, but it creates this sense of strength and texture overall.
What did you want Honeycomb to feel like when someone puts it on?
Light, flattering and really comfortable, but still held. That’s always the sweet spot. I wanted you to put it on and immediately feel like everything just sits right.
We kept the silhouettes minimal and wearable, because that’s what you reach for day to day. Nothing complicated, just really good essentials that feel elevated.

Nudea is a B Corp, did that come into the story here?
Definitely. Being a B Corp is a reminder that we’re not just designing for looks, we’re designing with responsibility and thinking about the bigger picture too.
That mindset affects everything: how intentional we are, how much we avoid doing things just for the sake of it, how we keep pushing ourselves to do better.
And because this collection is rooted in real respect for the world that inspired it, 5% of Honeycomb sales will be donated to the British Beekeepers Association, supporting the vital work they do for bees and beekeepers across the UK.
Is there something about bees that you personally connect with?
I love how they’re gentle, but powerful. They’re not loud, but they’re essential and they create something beautiful through consistency and teamwork.
I think that’s what I wanted Honeycomb to reflect. That quiet strength. The kind you feel rather than see.
What’s your favourite part of the collection?
The overall feel. It’s soft in a really lovely way, but it still has shape to it. I’m always chasing that “second skin” feeling, but with just the right amount of structure underneath.
And it’s the sort of collection you don’t have to think about. It just becomes part of your routine. You wear it once, and then you keep reaching for it.
